HOUSTON — A father was critically injured after being shot during a fight with his son late Friday at a gas station in northeast Houston, according to police.
Houston Police Department northeast patrol officers responded to a shooting call at about 10 p.m. at the Pemex gas station located on the 700 block of Kress St.
Investigators determined the shooting stemmed from an argument between family members that escalated into a physical confrontation. During the altercation, the son allegedly produced a firearm and fired, striking his father.
Authorities said it was not immediately known how many times the victim was shot. He was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
The suspect, described as being in his late teens or early 20s, was taken into custody at the scene. Formal charges are pending further investigation, which will be up to the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
The Houston Police Department is handling the investigation.
