Search for missing man at Eagle Mountain Lake underway

Authorities are searching for a fisherman after finding his boat adrift on Eagle Mountain Lake this week.

TARRANT COUNTY, Texas — Authorities are searching for a man who disappeared after visiting Twin Points Park on Eagle Mountain Lake in Tarrant County.

According to the Tarrant Regional Water District (TRWD), the man was reported missing at about 12:16 p.m. on June 11, after failing to return home. Officers found his truck and trailer unoccupied at the park shortly after arriving on the scene.

A search was immediately launched for both the man and his boat. By 1:07 p.m., TRWD officers located the boat adrift on the lake without anyone on board, the department said in a news release.

TRWD didn’t release the man’s identity, but social media posts indicated the man is from the Azle area.

Investigators say the man texted a friend at about 7:44 p.m. on June 10 to say he was heading out to fish. Surveillance video confirmed he entered the Twin Points Park alone at 8:10 p.m., towing his boat and a trailer.

The search expanded after cellphone data showed the latest activity near Auggie’s Bar and Grill. Witnesses reported seeing the man near the dock at about 1:30 a.m. on June 11.

Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Wardens are assisting with ongoing search and investigation efforts. Anyone with information is urged to call TRWD’s Communications Center at 817-720-4584.
