A 51-year-old man caught on camera in a shootout with a teenager was no-billed on a murder charge, court records showed.

DALLAS COUNTY, Texas — Editor’s note: The video published above is a WFAA report from April where spoke with neighbors who witnessed the fatal shooting.

A grand jury declined to indict a Seagoville man on a murder charge stemming from a shootout in late April, according to court records.

Larry Robertson, 51, was indicted, however, on an Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon charge, the Dallas County District Attorney’s office confirmed to WFAA.

The charges stemmed from a shootout in broad daylight of a Seagoville neighborhood that was caught on camera, WFAA previously reported.

The Seagoville Police Department said the victim was walking down the 2000 block of Canterbury Drive around 11:30 a.m. Sunday, April 27, when a black sedan drove by. The driver of that sedan turned onto the next street, Fountain Drive, and stopped in the middle of the road before exiting his car with a rifle and shooting at the victim, SPD said.

The department said the victim then fired back before running away, but was eventually shot by the suspect. The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as 19-year-old Kaisan Henderson.

The suspect, who police identified as 51-year-old Larry Robertson, of Seagoville, tried to flee in the sedan, but responding officers caught him, SPD said. Seagoville PD said Robertson was the only occupant of the car, and officers found a loaded rifle in the sedan.

WFAA spoke with a neighbor in the area who had a bullet pierce her daughter’s window.

“Everything could have gone a different way, so I’m thankful my baby’s alive,” she said.

When police arrived, SPD said they found Henderson lying on the ground, bleeding with clear gunshot wounds. Another person was trying to perform life-saving measures on him before officers took over, police said. Eventually, SPD said an ambulance arrived and took Henderson to a hospital, where he died.

Robertson was no-billed by a Dallas County grand jury for the murder charge on June 20.
