Dallas-based Sandoitchi is in the process of building its first true flagship restaurant.
HOUSTON — A Japanese sandwich shop that has become a favorite of model, cookbook author and television personality Chrissy Teigen and her musician husband, John Legend, is expanding to the Heights.
Dallas-based Sandoitchi is in the process of building its first true flagship restaurant at 1603 Durham Drive, near the intersection of Durham Drive and West 16th Street, according to a filing submitted to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
Sandoitchi co-owner Keith Tran said in an interview that the company has operated a 300-square-foot restaurant in Dallas’ Joule Hotel for the past five years. But the new Heights location will be the first time the company has an opportunity to fully design and shape its own restaurant space.
The restaurant’s menu includes such signature sandwiches, or sandos, as the egg salad, pork katsu and the hot truffle chicken katsu.
