An additional month down, one more to go. As spring continues, we have seen lots of weather patterns.
May Temperatures
-
Chilliest morning: 56 ° F
-
Warmest mid-day: 103 ° F
Out of the 31 days of the month, 19 were spent over average, with four days having record-breaking heat and three days exceeding 100 degrees.
May rainfall
We started the month in a dry spell, and sadly, we are completing it in a dry spell also. Although it started silently, the month ended with a bang!
We experienced several days and rounds of showers and electrical storms in the Alamo City, which produced flooding issues, hailstorms, and nearly the much-needed rainfall for many.
Although we saw practically 6 inches of rainfall, the majority of the recent rains is not included in the upgraded drought monitor. We started the month with really little rains, which established the stage for intensified drought and water restrictions for the aquifer.
Looking ahead to June & & summer
As we start the summer season, the climate in San Antonio will certainly heat up noticeably. While we have already experienced triple-digit warmth, we can expect much more in June, according to the summer outlook.
We’ll keep you published on any kind of changes!
