HOUSTON — Houston police are investigating a suspected homicide after a man was found dead Sunday evening in northwest Houston.

Investigators responded to Chrystell Lane, just south of Pinemont Drive and west of TC Jester Boulevard, after the Houston Fire Department was dispatched to a body found, according to Houston police.

Police said firefighters found suspicious circumstances at the scene and contacted HPD to assist with the investigation. Officers later determined the case would likely be investigated as a homicide.

Authorities said the victim is a man, but his age has not been released. Investigators also said the exact cause of death remains unknown pending an examination by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

“At this time, we do not know the cause of death or anything like that,” Lt. Horelica said. “We’re going to have to wait on the medical examiner’s office to determine all that.”

Police said there were “suspicious circumstances” surrounding the death that led investigators to believe it was a homicide.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Houston Police Department Homicide Division or Crime Stoppers.
