A beautiful green and yellow bird dropped in for a quick snack.
HOUSTON — A pretty pet parrot has been reunited with its owner thanks to kind-hearted Houston firefighters and a police officer.
The friendly bird showed up at Station 4 on West Little York in north Houston a couple of days ago.
The firefighters gave it some water and crackers and posted photos online in hopes of finding the owner.
“Soon, an HPD officer arrived, calling ‘Pistachio!'” Station 4 posted. “The bird responded immediately to its name and Spanish commands.”
The officer had been helping the bird’s owner search for it.
He came to the fire station to pick up Pistachio, relieved to be reunited with his buddy.
People online said Pistachio is a yellow-headed Amazon parrot.
