HOUSTON — A man was hit and killed by a METRO bus early Sunday morning in downtown Houston, according to METRO officials.
The incident happened around 6:30 a.m. near Travis Street, where METRO bus 5843 was traveling northbound when it hit a male pedestrian.
A METRO spokesperson told KHOU 11 News preliminary information suggests the man was in a crosswalk at the time of the incident, though officials said the exact circumstances remain under investigation.
The identity of the pedestrian has not been released, and no additional details about the bus driver or possible contributing factors have been made public.
METRO said the investigation is ongoing.
