DJ Daniel has been appointed as an honorary officer for over 1,300 law enforcement agencies nationwide.
WASHINGTON — DJ Daniel, the young boy from Pearland now recognized as an honorary member of more than 1,300 law enforcement agencies across the nation, is currently facing a challenging health situation.
According to DJ’s father, Theodis, his son has developed three new tumors.
“Just taking it one day at a time. He unfortunately has three new tumors. It’s tough. There’s no class that prepares you for this. Hearing your child has a severe illness is incredibly difficult,” he stated.
The White House shared this update on social media.
“DJ is one of the strongest and bravest young men, and he has now been sworn into 1,351 law enforcement agencies nationwide. Agent Daniel, you are truly legendary,” the message stated.
During a presidential address in March, DJ received honors from President Donald Trump.
“DJ, tonight, we are going to give you the greatest honor of all,” Trump remarked during his speech. “I am calling on our new Secret Service director, Sean Curran, to officially appoint you as an agent of the United States Secret Service.”
DJ has been dealing with health challenges for several years.
“Since 2018, I was told I had only five months left to live. Here I am, still going strong, but the wildest part is I’m 13 years old and have undergone 13 brain surgeries. That’s how often my personality has changed. Every single time I went in, my dad had to get to know me all over again,” DJ expressed when he was named the Honorary Assistant Chief of the Kemah Police Department earlier this year.
