Pasadena ISD denounces comments by employee made after Charlie Kirk’s death

PASADENA, Texas — Pasadena ISD issued a statement late Wednesday night denouncing comments reportedly made by an employee after the shooting death of 31-year-old conservative political commentator Charlie Kirk.

The district described the comments as “inappropriate and insensitive.”

It’s unclear what was actually said in the comments.

“The situation is being addressed administratively, and we want to assure our community that comments of this nature are taken seriously,” the district said in its statement. “We regret that these comments were made. Pasadena ISD is committed to maintaining a respectful and compassionate environment for all.”

Kirk, the co-founder of a national conservative youth organization called Turning Point USA, was fatally shot while at a speaking event on Wednesday at Utah Valley University. As of Thursday morning, a manhunt was still underway for the gunman.
