Pasadena City Council seat will come down to a coin flip

With the official county, both Bianca Valerio and Bruce Leamon finished the race with the exact same number of votes.

PASADENA, Texas — Heads or tails? That’s how a seat on the Pasadena city council will be decided.

We’re talking about the race for Pasadena City Council District B. After the June 7 vote, both incumbent Bianca Valerio and Bruce Leamon had the exact same number of votes. They were tied 272-272.

Editor’s note: Video above is from our report after the unofficial votes were counted

That was the unofficial result after the initial count. The Harris County Clerk’s office went back and checked provisional and late ballots and determined that yes, it really was officially a tie.

And to break the tie, it comes down to a coin flip.  That coin flip will take place on Monday, June 30 at Pasadena City Hall at 11 a.m.

So, if you ever wanted a reminder that every vote counts, remember this race!  And we’ll be sure to bring you the coin flip winner as soon as it lands on either heads or tails.
