HOUSTON — Paris-based Opera Gallery, an art gallery catering to high-wealth collectors, plans to open its first Texas location in River Oaks District.
Information submitted to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation July 28 shows the company expects to begin building out a 3,000-square-foot space at 4444 Westheimer, Suite A115, later this year.
The build-out is expected to cost $7 million and is scheduled to take place from early September to December.
Opera Gallery has tapped Houston-based Abel Design Group to serve as the design firm, the filing said. However, the filing did not list a general contractor.
TDLR filings are preliminary and are often subject to change.
Efforts to reach River Oaks District’s management office and Opera Gallery for comment were not immediately successful.
Opera Gallery got its start in 1994, when it opened exhibition galleries in Paris and Singapore simultaneously, according to its website.
