CRESSON, Texas– Two individuals were hospitalized as a preventative measure after lightning struck a cover at a park with 14 people under it as tornados moved through North Texas Sunday.
Lightning struck the canopy at Mustang Park on Lake Benbrook quickly prior to 6: 30 p.m. Sunday, the Cresson Volunteer Fire Department shared on social networks. A tree and a car were also affected by the lightning strike, officials claim.
Two people were taken to a regional hospital as a preventative measure, and the various other 12 were reviewed and dealt with at the scene with “with feasible adhere to up treatment at an emergency clinic,” according to the department.
