Carrollton-Farmers Branch, Grand Prairie and Grapevine-Colleyville ISDs have all announced free meal programs for area students.
DALLAS — Several North Texas school districts plan to provide free meals to children during the summer months.
Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD
The Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD Student Nutrition Department, in partnership with the Texas Department of Agriculture, is providing free summer meals to all children 18 and younger.
“Summer meals provide the nourishment children need to succeed when they return to school in the fall,” a spokesperson for the district said in a press release.
The below sites will be open Monday through Thursday.
Riverchase Elementary School | May 26, 2026 – July 23, 2026

Grand Prairie ISD
Grand Prairie ISD is also partnership with the Texas Department of Agriculture to provide free meals to children 18 and younger, as well as enrolled students with disabilities up to 21 years old.
“With nearly 2 million food insecure children living in Texas, these healthy meals are vital to nourishing young Texans during the summer vacation,” the district said in a press release.
Breakfast will be offered from 7:30 a.m.-8:30 a.m. and lunch will be provided from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday at the following dates and locations.

Grapevine-Colleyville ISD
Summer meals will also be available through Grapevine-Colleyville ISD. Children 18 and younger will be able to go to Cross Timbers Middle School in Grapevine Monday through Friday for breakfast from 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and lunch from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Meals must be eaten onsite and there are no to-go breakfasts or lunches available. The site will be closed June 19 and July 4.
