A woman from Garland won $1 million from Choctaw Casino & Resort as part of their 3-month. 3 Millionaires promotion.
GARLAND, Texas — A Garland woman became a millionaire Sunday after winning $1 million from Choctaw Casino & Resort.
Fuong H is the first of three people to receive $1 million this summer as part of the casino’s 3 Months. 3 Millionaires promotion, the casino announced. Three Choctaw Rewards Club members will receive $1 million this summer.
“I’m still excited. I never thought I would win tonight,” Fuong said. “My name was called; I stood up from my table and said, ‘That’s my name!’”
Fuong recently retired from a jewelry company she’d been working at for 33 years, according to a press release from Choctaw Casino & Resort. She plans to spend her money on her three children and six grandchildren. She also plans to invest her winnings, the release states.
As part of the 3 Months. 3 Millionaires promotion, Chotaw will make a $10,000 donation to a local nonprofit in the Garland area, the release states. Choctaw will work with the winner to select a nonprofit of their choice, the release states.
The next $1 million drawing will be held at 1 a.m. Saturday July 5, the release states. The winner must be present to claim the prize.
