ARLINGTON, Texas — A motorcyclist was killed after hitting a pole and being thrown from her motorcycle Thursday morning in Arlington, officials say.
Officers responded to the crash at about 7:30 a.m. in the 1700 block of West Abram Street and found the motorcycle rider, identified as a 56-year-old woman, lying in the roadway, police said.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel, officials say. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the woman’s name after next-of-kin is notified.
A witness told police the woman lost control of her motorcycle before hitting the pole and being ejected, officials say.
The westbound lanes of Abram Street was briefly closed Thursday morning as crews responded to the crash, police say.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
