Most stolen vehicles in Texas include these popular trucks

FinanceBuzz reports that pickup trucks dominate Texas’ most stolen vehicles.

TEXAS, USA — A new report is giving Texas drivers extra reason to be cautious.

According to an analysis by FinanceBuzz, using data from the National Insurance Crime Bureau, pickup trucks dominated the list of most stolen vehicles in the state last year.

At the top of the list was the Chevrolet Silverado 1500, with 6,453 stolen in 2024. Following closely is the GMC Sierra 1,500.

Hyundai and Kia models also made the list.

Over 850,000 cars were stolen across America in 2024, according to the NCIB. This is equal to a car being stolen every 37 seconds.

Experts say a viral TikTok may be partly to blame for the spike in thefts. The video showed how to start an engine using a screwdriver and a USB cable. It also showed thieves ripping out alarms.

Texas drivers are encouraged to stay alert. If you drive one of these models, you might want to consider adding a steering wheel lock for extra protection.
