Momentum Climbing to Open New Gym in Memorial City

The gym is known for offering upscale climbing and bouldering experiences, as well as speed climbing, top rope and lead-climbing terrain facilities.

HOUSTON — Momentum Indoor Climbing is preparing to expand its Houston presence with a new Memorial City location.

The Utah-based climbing-oriented gym has submitted paperwork to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, outlining plans for a new gym at 10516 Katy Freeway near Memorial City.

The build-out of the 38,000-square-foot Momentum facility is scheduled to begin in November and be complete in July 2026.

The project is expected to cost $2.2 million, and Houston-based SDstudio has been tapped to serve as the design firm, the filing said. The TDLR filing did not list a general contractor.

TDLR filings are preliminary and are often subject to change.

The filing listed Houston-based Davis Holdings as the property owner.

Kate Davis of Davis Holdings said she thinks Momentum is a great fit for the retail plaza because Bel Furniture is moving out and having a new fitness-oriented tenant will help drive interest.
