FRISCO, Texas — Police are investigating after they say a beloved musician who’d been reported missing over the weekend was found dead in Frisco.

Michael Rigsby was reported missing to Irving police around 8 p.m. June 22, officials say, and was found dead in Frisco around 9 a.m. the next day.

Police confirmed Rigsby’s body was found at a location in the 8600 block of Hickory Street in Frisco.

Frisco police declined to provide additional details, citing the ongoing investigation into Rigsby’s death. Irving police said in a statement that the Frisco Police Department is leading the investigation, but their “investigators will assist with the investigation in any way needed.”

The Bridge Frisco, formerly The Potter’s House of North Dallas, a campus of the Dallas megachurch The Potter’s House, shared a tribute online to Rigsby, 26, the church’s “beloved organist.”

“Mike was a faithful and steady presence in our band, whose passion for music and worship resonated through every note he played,” The Bridge Frisco’s post read. “His contribution to our sacred sound will be profoundly missed.”

“Our church has supported his family during this time of searching for answers, and we ask that you continue to lift them—and all who were connected to him—in your prayers. He will be deeply missed,” the church’s post continued.

KTALNews in Texarkana reports Rigsby also has connections there and played instruments at church there as a youth.
