AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department on Monday identified a man who died in an Aug. 11 crash in south Austin.
The man’s name was Samson Seablom, 47, according to a APD.
The crash involving two vehicles happened at the intersection of South First Street and West William Cannon Drive at 2:37 p.m., police said.
APD said the driver of the first vehicle was taken to the hospital. The driver of the other vehicle, Seablom, was pronounced dead at the scene. A pedestrian was also hit by debris from the crash and taken to the hospital.
The investigation is ongoing, and fatality information may change, according to police.

The crash is Austin’s 60th deadly crash of 2025, resulting in 64 deaths, APD said. One year prior, there had been 55 deadly crashes, resulting in 59 deaths.
