Man shot in neighborhood near Westpark Tollway

Houston police seek public help after a man was shot multiple times during a neighborhood confrontation.

HOUSTON — Houston police are asking for the public’s help after a man was shot several times in a neighborhood near the Westpark Tollway overnight.

Investigators say the shooting happened just before 10 p.m. Monday on the city’s southwest side. According to HPD, a group of teenagers was threatening another teen and his mother, who were hiding inside their home.

At some point during the confrontation, gunfire erupted. A man who was nearby was shot multiple times but managed to escape the scene. Police say he made it to a gas station near Bellaire and Wilcrest, where he called for help.

He was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.

Officers are now working to identify and locate the group of teens involved. Anyone with information is urged to contact Houston police.
