AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man was sentenced May 29 to serve 40 years in prison related to a May 2024 homicide investigation.
According to Travis County court documents, 37-year-old William Jewel Daniels pleaded guilty to first-degree murder. The charge was related to the death of 49-year-old Stephen Mark Peterman, who was shot and killed during a vehicle burglary.
Toward his sentence, Daniels received a jail credit of 375 days.
