Houston police said the woman found her boyfriend shot to death in a grassy area after tracking down his phone.
HOUSTON — An investigation is underway after a woman found her boyfriend shot to death in a grassy by after tracking his cellphone location, Houston police say.
The Houston Police Department said the shooting happened in a grassy area near a bus stop along North Main Street near East 34th Street around 9 p.m.
The man was sitting at a bus stop while video calling his girlfriend when HPD said an unknown man approached him and started a friendly conversation. At some point, police said the man started running before the phone went quiet.
The girlfriend got worried and tracked him down using his cellphone location. That’s when she found him dead.
