Man charged with capital murder in death of southwest Houston bar employee

Christopher Lee Bowden, 47, was arrested Wednesday and charged with capital murder.

HOUSTON — Houston police have arrested a suspect in connection with the death of a man found inside a Bellaire Boulevard bar and game room last week.

Christopher Lee Bowden, 47, has been charged with capital murder in the 182nd Criminal District Court. He was arrested on Wednesday by Houston police and booked into the Harris County Jail.

The victim has been identified as Chun Chen, 54.

Chen was found unresponsive on the floor of the business on Bellaire Boulevard near Turtlewood, a little after noon on May 8. A coworker went to check on him when he could not be reached. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded, and Chen was pronounced dead from apparent blunt force trauma.
