Man accused of posing as ICE agent in Houston robbery

The victim told authorities that Guliano Christopher Thomson, 37, flashed a badge and presented himself as an ICE agent before robbing him of nearly $2,000.

HOUSTON — A 37-year-old man is facing multiple felony charges after authorities said he robbed another man while posing as a United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent.

Guliano Christopher Thomson is facing a third-degree felony of impersonating a public servant and a second-degree felony of robbery by threat. His bond was set at $50,000 for each charge.

The alleged robbery happened Tuesday night. Houston police said Thomson was in his personal vehicle when he pulled the 29-year-old victim over. The victim told authorities that Thomson flashed a badge and presented himself as an ICE agent. The victim said Thomson robbed him of $1,800 and his Guatemalan ID.

Thomson was later arrested on Skyline Drive near the intersection of Richmond Avenue and Hillcroft Avenue.

Who is Thompson?

According to court officials, Thomson has lived in the Houston area for 15 years and has eight children. They said he works as a roofer and has “significant” health issues.

According to court officials, he’s currently on parole until 2030 for a previous arson conviction.

ICE strongly condemns the impersonation of its officers or agents. This action is not only dangerous, but illegal. Imposters can be charged with various criminal offenses both at the state/local level, as well as federally (under 18 USC 912).”
