Long time televangelist based in North Texas, and founder of Life Reach International, has died

James Robison was 82 years old.

FORT WORTH, Texas — Life Outreach International has announced the death of their founder, James Robison, a former televangelist based in North Texas. According to his obituary, posted by Baptist News Global, Robison was 82-years old. 

LIFE today said in part, “It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Rev. James Robison, the beloved founder of Life Outreach International. James devoted his life to sharing the Gospel and bringing hope, help, and healing to those in need around the world.” 

WFAA carried Robison’s program throughout the 1970’s before discontinuing in 1979. Life Outreach International is based in Fort Worth. 

According to Robison’s website, he began preaching in 1957. The evangelistic program began in 1963, and the company celebrated 60 years of ministry in 2023. The website states that in those 60 years, Robison and his team preached to more than 20 million people, drilled over 9,500 wells, and fed more than 9.5 million people.
