AUSTIN (KXAN) – While on assignment in Houston, Meteorologist Kristen Currie had the opportunity to visit NASA’s Space Center Houston. She gives us a preview of some of the features visitors can explore.





Visitors can take advantage of several tours, including the Rocket Park tour, which offers an up-close look at the Saturn V rocket. Others include a campus tour, a mission control tour, and a training facility tour.



Spectators can also learn more about upcoming missions to Mars.



Some notable features:
Independence Plaza – A walk-through shuttle replica (“Independence”) mounted on top of an original NASA shuttle carrier aircraft
Spacesuit collection: A comprehensive collection of spacesuits representing the men and women of space exploration
Artemis exhibit: Highlights NASA’s Artemis program, which will return humans to the Moon for the first time in over 50 years
International Space Station gallery: A look inside the space station – from interactive live shows to actual flown space station artifacts
Mission to Mars: Discover what it takes to travel to Mars, what hardware will get us to the fourth planet in our solar system, and how humans may live on the red planet in the next few decades in our new interactive exhibit, Mission Mars
