The Spieth family has a new member.
DALLAS — Dallas native golfer Jordan Spieth and his wife Annie this weekend announced a new addition to their family.
The three-time major winner and his wife announced the birth of their third child in an Instagram post Sunday. The couple named the baby Sully.
“We added a new member to the foursome – Sully Spieth! Everyone is doing great,” Jordan Spieth wrote in an Instagram post.
The couple already had a son, Sammy, who was born in 2021, and a daughter, Sophie, who is 22 months old, according to pgatour.com.
Spieth, 31, is a 13-time PGA Tour winner with five tournament titles, including two majors, in 2015, when he also won the FedEx Cup and Player of the Year, according to the website.
In June, Spieth withdrew from the Travelers Championship after 13 holes because of a shoulder blade injury.
Last week, during an appearance on the “Up & Adams” show, Spieth said he’s back “to full strength” and he expects to play at the British Open, which is set to start Thursday.
“I’ve been back to full strength getting ready for the Open Championship next week,” Spieth said on the show July 7. “I have no restrictions, which is great.”
“I’m going to be a little bit of a late arrival, but I’ll be there,” Spieth said of the British Open.
At the time of his shoulder blade injury, Spieth had moved back into the top 50 in the world rankings and the top 40 of the FedEx Cup despite a late start to the season because of surgery on his left wrist last August, as the Associated Press reported.
