HPD officer involved in rollover crash while responding to call in Montrose area, police say

A Houston police officer and a civilian driver were involved in a rollover crash in Montrose while the officer was responding to a call, according to officials.

HOUSTON — A Houston police officer and a civilian driver were involved in a rollover crash in the Montrose area Monday afternoon, according to the Houston Police Department.

The crash happened around 2:20 p.m. near Westheimer Road and Dunlavy Street.

Police said the officer was responding to a scene with emergency lights and sirens activated when the patrol vehicle collided with another vehicle at the intersection.

The crash caused the other vehicle to roll over, authorities said.

An HPD officer was taken to the hospital following the crash. Police said no major injuries were reported.

It remains unclear whether the civilian driver or anyone besides the officer was transported for treatment.

Police have not said whether any citations will be issued.
