Houston Pride parade, festival kicks off June 28

Organizers said the celebration will feature community resources, vendors, talent and immersive entertainment zones.

HOUSTON — The Houston Pride LGBT+ Celebration and Pride Houston Parade are happening this weekend.

The celebration, which is advertised as all ages, kicks off at 11 a.m. at Houston City Hall, located at 901 Bagby Street.

Organizers said the celebration will feature community resources, vendors, talent and immersive entertainment zones.

“Pride is more than a party. It’s a purpose,” organizers wrote on the event’s page.

Tickets are required for the celebration. General admission costs $10 with a small fee through eventbrite.

A VIP package is also available starting at $250 with a $37 fee through Eventbrite. Here’s what organizers say the VIP package includes:

  • Exclusive VIP entrance to the festival and parade
  • Open bar in the festival and parade
  • Access to main stage plaza
  • Cooling relaxation zone at festival
  • Grandstand parade viewing
  • Cooling VIP restrooms
  • Catered food
  • VIP swagbag

Organizers said paid parking is available at the venue.

The celebration ends at 6 p.m., just in time for the parade to start at 7 p.m. The parade is scheduled to end at 10 p.m.

Pride Houston Parade Route

The parade will start at the intersection of Smith Street and Lamar Street and head toward Walker Street, where it will take a right. From Walker Street, the parade will take another right turn at Milam Street and continue until it ends at Pease Street.
