Houston police seek tattooed suspect in child kidnapping attempt

A quick-thinking child managed to escape, but the suspect is still out there.

HOUSTON — Crime Stoppers and the Houston Police Department’s Major Assaults Division are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect who tried to kidnap a child from their backyard in Houston on June 27, 2025, at about 11 a.m.

The suspect, described as a white man, about 30 years old and over 6 feet tall with blonde hair, tried to grab the child from the home on Bethlehem Street but was unsuccessful. The child escaped, and the suspect fled the scene in a blue SUV or hatchback-style vehicle.

A distinctive feature that may help identify the suspect is a tattoo of a queen on his arm, according to the police description.

The incident occurred in broad daylight in a residential area. Officials did not specify where on Bethlehem Street the incident happened. Bethlehem Street extends east and west from Ella Blvd., just south of Pinemont Drive.
