HOUSTON — Houston police are hoping the public can help them find a man who’s believed to be behind a series of attacks on women at downtown-area parks and trails.

Investigators released a sketch of the suspect on Monday.

They said they think he attacked at least five women this summer.

The attacks

June 17

Around 6:15 p.m., a woman said she was walking in her neighborhood along Crockett Street between Taylor Street and Houston Avenue when she said a man riding a bike touched her inappropriately.

July 10

Around 6:30 that night, a woman said she was walking at a park on Sabine Street just south of Memorial Drive when a man on a bike touched her inappropriately.

July 28

Just before 8 a.m., a woman was walking on the Heights Hike and Bike Trail near Frasier Street when she was touched inappropriately by a man on a bike.

Around 4:40 p.m. that same day, a woman was walking at a park on Stude Street just north of I-10 when a man on a bike touched her inappropriately.

July 31

Houston police said a pregnant woman was walking in a park on Allen Parkway near Taft Street around 7:30 p.m. She said that a man on a bike approached her from behind and grabbed her fanny pack, which she had around her waist. She said it caused her to fall to the ground and the suspect to fall off his bike.

Investigators said the suspect then kicked the woman in her stomach and took her fanny pack before riding away.

Authorities said the attack caused the woman to have a miscarriage.

Suspect description

Police described the suspect as a white man in his mid-30s. He was wearing a red helmet and was riding a navy blue or dark green bike. They said he had brown hair and was wearing black and white shoes during at least one of the attacks.
