Houston company seeks help after trailer theft caught on camera

Surveillance footage given exclusively to KHOU 11 shows two people taking the trailer from Spic & Span Maid Cleaning Services late Sunday night.

HOUSTON — A Houston business owner is asking for the public’s help after a trailer was stolen from her property, and the brazen theft was all caught on camera.

Surveillance video shows people allegedly cutting through the fence around 11:40 p.m. Sunday at Spic & Span Maid Cleaning Services, located on Almeda Genoa Road near Martin Luther King Boulevard. The alleged thieves then drove onto the lot, hooked up a trailer to their truck, and drove off in just a matter of minutes.

“I think they were in and out of here in under three minutes. Under three minutes. It just, it amazes me,” Spic & Span Maid Cleaning Services president Felicia Gonzalez said.

Gonzalez said she realized the trailer was gone when she arrived to work Monday morning. Reviewing the surveillance footage left her stunned.

“Disbelief. Honestly, disbelief. I’ve been here a long time, and I’ve never had any issues,” she said.

Gonzalez said the stolen trailer was brand-new and cost about $13,000. She purchased it with a specific purpose: to help a terminally ill client declutter her home.

“One of the things she wanted was to clean out her house, so that her children didn’t have to worry about that in her passing,” Gonzalez said. “Now, we just can’t do it.”

She filed a police report with Houston police, which confirmed with KHOU 11 that they are reviewing the surveillance footage and actively investigating the theft. However, as of Thursday, no arrests have been made, and the trailer has not been found yet.

In the meantime, Gonzalez is offering a reward for the trailer’s return.

“I am hoping that somebody will come forward. I’ve put a $2,000 reward for the safe return of my trailer,” she said.

And she had a simple message for the people who took it:

“I don’t care who you are. All I want is my trailer back, so that we can help other people who are in need,” Gonzalez said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Houston Police Department. Spic & Span Maid Cleaning Services can also be reached at 281-412-4464.
