HFD rescues person from Alief-area house fire on Corona Lane

HFD said the person was taken to a hospital. We don’t yet know their condition.

HOUSTON — Houston firefighters rescued a person from a house fire Friday morning.

The Houston Fire Department said they got a call at 7:02 a.m. from a person saying they were trapped in a burning home on Corona Lane near South Kirkwood Road.

Upon arrival, HFD said firefighters started an offensive attack and searched the home. They were able to find the person and get them out.

HFD said the person was taken to a hospital. We don’t yet know their condition.

It’s also unclear what caused the fire.

When Air 11 flew over the home shortly before 8 p.m., firefighters appeared to be packing up their equipment.
