Grimes Region officials catch left inmate in Houston after a collaborated manhunt.

HOUSTON– An inmate that escaped from a healthcare facility in Austin has been recorded in Houston, the Grimes County Sheriff’s Workplace confirmed Tuesday.

On Wednesday, May 29, around 8 p.m., McArthur Deashy Mathis ran away from the Cross Creek Psychiatric and Addiction Health Center in Austin. Mathis reportedly kicked open a back entrance at the facility and scaled a 6 -foot fence to run away the building.

He was nabbed near I- 45 and West Roadway in Houston on Tuesday, June 3, around 1: 30 p.m. by the united state Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offenders & & Fugitive Task Pressure.

Mathis was carried back to the Grimes Area Prison by members of the Grimes Region Constable’s Workplace Examination and Patrol Department.

Mathis had remained in safekeeping since Jan. 2, following his apprehension by the Grimes Area deputies on numerous warrants out of the Victoria Police Department and added fees including illegal property of a gun by a lawbreaker, worsened assault with a fatal weapon causing significant injury to a relative, blockage or retaliation, harmful conduct and break-in of a habitation.
