Stetson has launched its first-ever collegiate Gameday Collection, with Texas A&M and UT Austin leading the rollout of the licensed hat line.
HOUSTON — Stetson®, the iconic western-inspired headwear brand, is teaming up with CLC, the nation’s leading collegiate brand licensing agency, to launch a new line of officially licensed hats for college fans across the country.
The Stetson Gameday Collection brings the craftsmanship and pop-culture appeal of the Stetson name to seven universities, with each hat uniquely designed to feature school branding tastefully integrated into the hat band. The hats will be sold exclusively at campus retailers tied to each participating school.
Texas A&M leads the way
Texas A&M University was selected as the inaugural school in the collection. Fans got their first look when the hats debuted at the Aggies’ football home opener on August 30.
The University of Texas at Austin followed on September 5, with hats available at the COOP and Big Bertha’s Bazaar on game day.
More schools set for launch
The collection expands throughout September with additional schools joining in:
- University of Oklahoma – September 6 (Fanatics In-Stadium Stores)
- Texas Christian University (TCU) – September 13 (TCU Campus Store)
- Texas Tech University – September 13 (Red Raider Outfitters)
- Oklahoma State University – September 27 (OSU Student Union Bookstore)
- Stetson University – September 20 (Stetson University Bookstore, in conjunction with the Hatters’ football game vs. Harvard)

Special connection to Stetson University
For Stetson University, the launch is particularly meaningful. The school was renamed in 1889 to honor benefactor John B. Stetson, and its athletic teams are nicknamed the “Hatters.” The mascot, John B., has become a fixture on campus since 2012, and it’s common to see students wearing Stetson hats at signature events such as convocation and graduation.
