Fort Worth Botanic Garden alters entry due to roadwork

The temporary access changes are expected to last until mid-July.

FORT WORTH, Texas — Beginning June 4, access to the Fort Worth Botanic Garden’s (FWBG) main entrance will be temporarily closed for approximately six weeks due to ongoing road construction on University Drive.

In response, the Garden is redirecting all guest traffic to its alternate entrance on Trail Drive.

The City of Fort Worth’s project will reduce University Drive to two lanes in each direction while crews remove and rebuild the existing center turn lane.

The city will hire a contractor to assist with traffic control. In addition, the city will place electronic reader boards and directional signage along Trail Drive for visitors.

During the construction period:

  • All guests must enter and exit through FWBG’s gates on Trail Drive
  • Signage will guide visitors to the appropriate access point
  • Updates will be shared via FWBG’s website, social media, and email notifications.

The temporary access changes are expected to last until mid-July.

Despite the disruption, the Garden remains open to the public, welcoming guests to enjoy its exhibits and green spaces during the summer season.
