A major crash involving a TDCJ van and a pickup truck has closed FM 980.
WALKER COUNTY, Texas — A major crash has closed FM 980 in both directions near Northside Baptist Church after a collision involving a Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) transport van and a pickup truck.
According to Walker County Constable Precinct 3, multiple patients have been transported to local hospitals by both ambulance and air medical helicopter. Officials have not released details on the extent of the injuries or the number of people involved.
Drivers are urged to avoid the area while first responders work the scene. There is no word yet on when FM 980 will reopen.
