SAN ANTONIO — The family of a 1 -year-old child that died of a pet strike is one action more detailed to laying their boy to remainder. Jiryiah Johnson’s family held his funeral service on Thursday.
“I’ve been attempting to be solid and be the rock of the family members and be encouraging of my woman, however I’m bad,” Julian Johnson, Jiryiah’s papa, said. “It hasn’t gotten any type of much easier.”
Jiryiah passed away from an attack by his babysitter’s 3 pets on Oct. 7
Heather Rodriquez, referred to as a family good friend, was left accountable of seeing Jiryiah. Instead, Rodriquez left him alone with her 13 -year-old daughter.
Johnson said he desires responses from Rodriquez.
‘Why did you determine not to call anybody and state you had to go to work?'” Johnson stated. “‘Why is it okay that you wish to save these pet dogs after what they did?'”
Johnson claimed his household had no prior concerns with Rodriquez yet didn’t recognize the pets would be maintained inside while his son was under Rodriquez’s treatment.
Rodriquez is facing three fees: two of them are different injury to a kid costs and the 3rd is a deserting or threatening a youngster charge.
A court decided Thursday for the 3 dogs to be euthanized throughout an unsafe dog hearing. Rodriquez has 10 days to appeal the judgment.
“Adjustment needs to occur currently due to the fact that individuals have been passing away left and right, obtaining attacked left and right by pets,” Johnson said.
Thursday’s hearing was a civil issue and didn’t involve the criminal situation where Rodriquez encounters the three charges.
As Johnson welcomed family, close friends and strangers at Thursday’s visitation, he also had a request.
“I want my kid to be remembered by his smile, his laugh,” Johnson claimed. “The truth that he was loud, and he informed everybody, ‘Hello.’ And he blew kisses.”
