An 18-wheeler crash on I-10 near the San Jacinto River is causing major delays, blocking all lanes and shoulders.

HOUSTON — Drivers heading east on Interstate 10 near the San Jacinto River are facing major delays Wednesday due to an 18-wheeler crash, blocking all main lanes and both shoulders, according to Houston TranStar.

The crash happened on I-10 Eastbound at the San Jacinto River bridge. Traffic cameras show the 18-wheeler blocking the width of the freeway, with emergency crews responding at the scene.

No word on any injuries at this time.

Alternate routes for drivers

For drivers trying to avoid the backup, here are some suggested alternate routes:

  • Highway 90 East (Crosby Freeway): Take US-59 North / I-69 North and connect to Highway 90 East as an alternate route toward eastbound destinations.

  • Beltway 8 East (Sam Houston Tollway): For those already on the east side, consider taking Beltway 8 Eastbound to bypass the area and reconnect with I-10 further east.

  • Spur 330: If coming from the Baytown area, consider using Spur 330 as an option, depending on your destination.

Drivers should expect heavy delays and are urged to seek alternate routes until the scene is cleared.
