Eanes ISD names interim superintendent

AUSTIN (KXAN) — On Thursday, the Eanes ISD board chose an interim superintendent while the district continues its search for a permanent leader.

According to the district, the board approved a contract with Tom Trigg during a special meeting.

“Eanes ISD is so well respected nationally and as a top Texas school district. I am honored to serve as interim superintendent while the Board continues its search for a permanent successor to Dr. Arnett,” Trigg said. “My wife Julie and I look forward to starting the school year with Eanes ISD staff, students and community.”

The district said Trigg’s educational career spanned 49 years, and he most recently served as superintendent at Highland Park ISD in Dallas.

“Widely recognized as a leader in education, Dr. Trigg received the Mike Kneale Educational Excellence in Leadership Award and was one of Education Week’s Leaders to Learn From in 2015, was one of the four finalists for National Superintendent of the Year in 2011 and was the Kansas Superintendent of the Year in 2011,” the district said of Trigg.

The current Eanes ISD superintendent, Jeff Arnett, is retiring at the end of July. Arnett said he would return to a previous post at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum.
