The expansion will transform historic Battelstein’s Building at 812 Main St., which is adjacent to the hotel’s current building at Samuel F. Carter Building at 806 Main. The Battelstein’s Building debuted as a department store in 1924 before reaching its current 10-story height in 1950 under the direction of renowned local architect Joseph Finger.

When combined with the existing 22-story building, the expansion will add 56 guest rooms, bringing the hotel’s total to 384, including 89 suites. The expansion also will add 10,000 square feet of additional meeting and event spaces, bringing the total to 23,500.
