Deshaun Watson has cut what may be his last tie to the city he once called home by selling his five-bedroom mansion.
HOUSTON — Former Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson left Houston in 2022 following a dramatic fall from grace after multiple women accused him of assaulting them during massages.
Grand juries in Harris and Brazoria counties declined to indict Watson in March 2022, and he eventually settled multiple lawsuits by his accusers.
Now, the quarterback has cut what may be his last tie to the city he once called home by selling his southwest Houston mansion.
Watson had been trying to unload the 5,264-square-foot home on Legend Manor Drive since 2017. He originally listed it for $1.65 million but later withdrew the listing.
After other attempts to sell the five-bedroom, five-bathroom house failed, Watson listed it again in February for $1.8 million.

After 150 days on the market, it finally sold for somewhere between $1.2 million and $1.4 million, according to the Houston Association of Realtors (HAR).

The mansion sits on a 10,825 square-foot lot near the Royal Oaks Country Club golf course.

It includes a chef’s kitchen, media room, resort-style pool and outdoor kitchen.

It was quite the starter home for the young rookie after spending his childhood in government housing and then a Habitat for Humanity home.
But it’s downright modest compared to the $5.4 million, 17,000-square-foot home Watson now owns in the Cleveland area.
He signed a five-year, $230 million fully guaranteed contract with the Browns in 2022, but Watson’s stint there has been marred by an 11-game NFL suspension, multiple injuries and lackluster performances. He’s sidelined again with a torn Achilles.
