LA-based Dave’s Hot Chicken continues to spread its wings in the San Antonio area, having filed with state regulators to open a fourth location.

The chain, which specializes in fiery Nashville-style fried chicken, will spend $525,000 finishing out a structure at 9257 N Loop 1604 West in the northwestern bedroom community of Helotes, state filings show. Work is expected to start this summer with finish out scheduled for early November.

Dave’s is in the midst of a breakneck national expansion. The company hit 400 locations last month, launching eight new stores in a single day, according to a report by industry news outlet FastCasual. Officials have also touted plans to launch as many as 150 additional stores this year.

The brand first planted its flag in San Antonio in late 2022, opening a store at 9602 State Highway 151, Suite 108, on the city’s far West Side. In comments to the Current at the time, officials said they expect to have as many as eight outlets in the Alamo City over time.
