DALLAS — A Dallas home sustained significant smoke damage after it caught fire from burning candles, officials said.
The fire happened at a home in the 5000 block of W. Amherst Avenue near Lovers Lane and Inwood Road, according to Dallas Fire-Rescue. No one was injured.
Officials said the fire appeared to be caused by a shrine, including burning candles, that residents had made inside the home due to a recent family tragedy. The house was mostly made of metal, officials said, so the structure was OK. But items inside the home were damaged by smoke.
