Dallas police seize drugs, guns and make arrests in investigation into gunfire

DALLAS — Multiple people were arrested, and drugs and several illegal guns were seized after Dallas police and the ATF executed a search warrant stemming from an investigation into random gunfire, officials said.

Dallas police and the ATF executed the search warrant Feb. 7 in the 2700 block of Lolita Drive in the Pleasant Grove neighborhood, and the search resulted in the confiscation of several illegal drugs, including more than 955.8 grams of fentanyl, 128.2 grams of cocaine, nine guns and three Glock switches, officials said.

Police said multiple people were arrested, including Juan David Hernandez, 38, and Carlos Garcia, 24, officials said. Hernandez was charged with two felony counts of manufacturing and delivery of controlled substances, unlawful possession of a firearm, and possession of prohibited weapons, officials said.

Then, on April 24, police executed a search warrant in the 7300 block of Charles Street, more than five miles away, after a shooting in the area, and seized several firearms that were illegally modified with a machine gun conversion device, according to a press release.

Two people were arrested and charged with possession of prohibited weapons, officials said. They weren’t identified.
