Dallas municipal court building closed Wednesday for water damage

Cases scheduled in the building for Wednesday will be rescheduled.

DALLAS — A Downtown Dallas municipal court building was closed Wednesday after the building sustained “substantial water damage” after rain and storms moved through North Texas Tuesday.

The building impacted is at 2014 Main Street. Anyone scheduled for a hearing in the building Wednesday will be notified by mail about their new hearing date, according to a news release. Jurors will be rescheduled for a later date.

Courts in the building handle Class C misdemeanor cases, city code violations, and traffic citation cases.

Thunderstorms moved through North Texas Tuesday, leading to flash flood warnings across parts of DFW and a ground stop at DFW Airport.
