Powerful storms are moving through North Texas late Sunday, bringing heavy rain and leaving hundreds without power.
Sunday is a WFAA Weather Alert Day with the potential for severe storms, with the main threat being damaging winds of 70-plus mph. There’s a risk for up to golf ball-sized hail, too. The tornado threat is low but not zero.
As the storms moved through North Texas Tuesday morning, more than 1,000 Oncor customers were reported without power as of shortly before noon, according to Oncor’s outage map.
“Our personnel are prepared to respond to any potential weather impacts,” Oncor said in a statement to WFAA. “We encourage our customers to review their severe weather safety plans.”
