SAN ANTONIO – It was the worst human smuggling tragedy in U.S. history.
Authorities discovered 67 immigrants inside a sweltering semi-truck on Quintana Road on June 27, 2022. Fifty-three of them lost their lives.
A memorial created in the aftermath of the tragedy was the center of a vigil on Saturday morning.
