Irving police said Melton was arrested on a sexual assault charge around 1 a.m. Saturday in the 200 block of East Las Colinas Boulevard. More details about the alleged incident were not released.
Carrollton police officials confirmed Melton’s arrest and said he was off duty. Melton has been a patrol officer with the Carrollton department since January 2024, police officials said.
He was placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation, according to Carrollton police.
